According to BPA Worldwide, who ranks and measures readership of all members, more print publishers find value in digital editions. The total count of BPA members reporting digital copies rose 18.2% to 338 in June 2009 - compared to 286 a year earlier in June 2008. This is a clear indication that more and more publishers are embracing the value of digital editions of their print properties.

Glenn Hansen, BPA's President and CEO, explains the main reasons for the increase in digital editions with benefits unmatched by hard copies. Digital editions offer potential for realizing distribution and circulation marketing cost efficiencies. In addition, a digital edition makes it possible to overcome the traditional delivery and challenges of timeliness, which makes them attractive to international business readers.

BPA Worldwide is auditing various types of media. Thus, the organization is able to see the impact of digital editions in a broader perspective. For the June 2009 reports, digital editions made up 15.4% of total circulation for all BPA members.
